Terms of Service

1. About TrustedFixers

TrustedFixers is an online marketplace that connects homeowners with CSLB-licensed, independent contractors in the greater Los Angeles area (including Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, and Pasadena). We provide the platform for homeowners to submit video-based job requests and for contractors to discover and claim leads. We are not a contractor, employer, or party to any contract between homeowners and contractors.

Our service is currently available only in Los Angeles County, California.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using TrustedFixers, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use our platform. We may update these terms at any time with notice posted on this page.

3. User Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
  • You must provide accurate, complete, and current information when registering.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You may not share your account or allow others to access your account.
  • We use Auth0 for secure account authentication. Your password is never stored by TrustedFixers directly.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Homeowner Terms

As a homeowner using TrustedFixers:

  • Submitting a job request is free. There is no charge to homeowners for using the platform.
  • You grant TrustedFixers a license to display your video and job description to verified contractors for the purpose of matching.
  • You are responsible for accurately describing your problem and providing a valid service address within our coverage area.
  • All coordination, scheduling, quoting, and payment between you and a contractor takes place off-platform.
  • TrustedFixers does not guarantee any specific response time, quality of work, or outcome.

5. Contractor Lead Purchase Terms

As a contractor, you may purchase exclusive leads to access homeowner contact information:

  • Lead pricing: Leads are priced between $20 and $80 depending on service category and urgency. Emergency jobs carry a $15 surcharge.
  • Exclusivity: Leads are exclusive — only one contractor may claim each lead. First to claim wins.
  • Non-refundable: Lead purchases are non-refundable after the one-hour cancellation window, or if the homeowner has not cancelled their request.
  • Cancellation refund: If a homeowner cancels their request within one hour of submission, you are entitled to a full refund of your lead purchase.
  • No guarantees: Purchasing a lead does not guarantee any work will be completed or that the homeowner will hire you.

6. Payments

All payments are processed securely by Stripe, Inc. By providing payment information, you agree to Stripe's terms of service. TrustedFixers does not store your full card details. Lead purchase charges are applied immediately at the time of claim. Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method, typically within 5–10 business days.

7. Video Content

By uploading a video to TrustedFixers:

  • You confirm that you own or have the right to share the content.
  • You grant TrustedFixers a limited, royalty-free license to store, display, and share your video with verified contractors for the purpose of job matching.
  • You must not upload content that is illegal, obscene, threatening, defamatory, or otherwise inappropriate.
  • Videos are stored securely and are only accessible to verified, approved contractors and platform administrators.

8. CSLB Verification Disclaimer

TrustedFixers verifies that contractors hold an active California State License Board (CSLB) license at the time of registration. However, we do not continuously monitor license status and do not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of any work performed. License status may change after our verification. We strongly encourage homeowners to verify contractor credentials independently at cslb.ca.gov.

9. Limitation of Liability

TrustedFixers is a technology marketplace only. We are not a contractor, employer, or agent of any contractor or homeowner. We are not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, or fitness for purpose of any services performed. TrustedFixers' total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the platform shall not exceed the total fees paid by you to TrustedFixers in the 12 months preceding the claim. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

10. Service Area

TrustedFixers is currently available only within Los Angeles County, California, with a focus on Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, and Pasadena. Job requests from outside our service area will not be matched with contractors and may be declined.

11. Prohibited Conduct

  • Using the platform for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempting to circumvent the lead purchase system (e.g., contacting homeowners through other means discovered via the platform).
  • Impersonating any person or entity.
  • Scraping, crawling, or automated data collection.
  • Submitting fraudulent job requests or contractor applications.

12. Modifications and Termination

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the platform at any time. We may update these Terms of Service with reasonable notice. Your continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these terms, fraudulent activity, or for any business reason with notice.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Los Angeles County, California.
